Andrew L. Cameron - Attorney
Attorney Andrew L. Cameron received his Bachelor of Arts Degree, with Honors, from Michigan State University and attended Indiana University-Bloomington where he received his law degree in 1986. Upon graduation he went to work for the Detriot law firm of Kitch, Saurbier, Drutchas, Wagner and Kenney located in downtown Detroit, Michigan. After relocating to Central Florida in 1988 Mr. Cameron accepted a position with the Law Firm of Jacobs and Goodman, P.A.. He soon left private practice to advocate on behalf of the citizens of the State of Florida, joining the Office of the State Attorney-Seminole County, Florida . As an Assistant State Attorney, Mr. Cameron prosecuted all varieties of misdemeanor and felony crimes, and was awarded Prosecutor of the Month (1992-1993), Outstanding Service Award 18th Judicial Circuit Court (1992) and Mother's Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Outstanding Prosecutor of 1992.
In 1993 Mr. Cameron established his Criminal Defense law practice focusing in the areas of criminal defense, family and juvenile law, personal injury and wrongful death. The Orange County Legal Aid Society Guardian Ad Litem Program awarded Mr. Cameron the Outstanding Pro Bono Service Award for the years 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2009.
Andrew L. Cameron is a member of the Orange County Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan, The Florida Bar, Central Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando, the Alliance for Central Florida Safety and Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. Mr. Cameron has been awarded a AV Peer Review Rating from LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell. In addition to Mr. Cameron's law practice, he has made an enthusiastic commitment as pro-bono legal counsel and Advisory Board Member to the Mad Cow Theater Company, which has been repeatedly named Orlando’s Best Professional Theater. He is also a member of Florida Citrus Sports, a philanthropic foundation which provides in-kind services to families and at-risk youth throughout Central Florida through its promotion of the Capital One and Champs Sports college football bowl games and supports the Red Chair Project.
Katrina Ploof - Paralegal/Office Manager
Paralegal and Office Manager Katrina Ploof has been employed by The Law Office Of Andrew L. Cameron since the firm was established in 1993. Ms. Ploof received her Paralegal Studies Associate Degrees in 1978 from New City College located in Manhattan, New York. After graduation she was employed by several different law firms and even served as the Paralegal and Documents Handler for the General Counsel of AT&T which required her to travel to the Middle-East, Asia and Eastern Europe.
After relocating to Central Florida Ms. Ploof worked for various law firms as well as supervising the Orlando Magic's start-up documents and NBA contracts. She also served as a paralegal and legal secretary for counsel of the Orange County School Board. In addition Ms. Ploof is a well renowned theatre director/choreographer/playwright sharing her love of theatre with the Lincoln Center Theatre Directors Laboratory on Broadway. She has also directed and choreographed productions with the Orlando-UCF Shakespeare Festival, Lake Highland Preparatory School, Riverside Theatre in Vero Beach, The Tampa Players, Civic Theatre of Central Florida, Theatre Winter Haven, and Mad Cow Theatre, just to name a few!
Nicole Monk - Accounts Receivable Manager/Legal Assistant
Nicole Monk started her career at The Law Office Of Andrew L. Cameron as a file clerk and runner while still attending high school. As the years passed, her responsibilities have grown as she now serves as the Accounts Receivable Manager and Legal Assistant for the firm. Ms. Monk holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of South Florida, as well as a Master of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida.
